What is the SAT?

The SAT is a standardized multiple choice test that high school students in the USA must take in order to be accepted into college.  The test is owned, published and managed by Collegeboard, who are a non-profit making organisation in the US. The test consists of three sections (critical reading, writing and math) all totalling 800 marks each, which the student has three hours and forty-five minutes to complete them in.
