Hi, my name is Kyra Alexander I am 18 years old and have recently signed a golf scholarship at Wagner College, New York. I am originally from Tirau, New Zealand and graduated St Peter’s School in Cambridge at the end of 2013.

In 2013 I first heard about Play Atlantic whilst researching golf scholarships online.  After exchanging a few emails I then met Charlie early this year. Charlie explained the recruitment process at length and answered all the questions that I had. I then started to spend a lot of time trying to develop my golf game to get to a level that would get me to the states. I found the help of Charlie and help provided on the Play Atlantic website invaluable in my application process. The checklist for Play Atlantic was definitely the most helpful service provided and I am still using it at the moment as I prepare to leave for the U.S! Also the contact kept by Charlie throughout this whole process has been really good, if I ever needed help I just phoned up and he knew what to say and was really helpful.

Once Charlie started promoting my profile college coaches from numerous universities got in contact with me. I was offered scholarships all over the states and I was blown away by the amount of coaches contacting me after only about a week of having my profile up. I definitely made it harder to choose a college as I had such a broad range. After careful consideration I accepted a golf scholarship for Wagner College, a NCAA div 1 school, on Staten Island in New York. I leave NZ on the 17th August 2014.

I am looking forward to the complete culture change from living in such a small town, to going to live in one of the world’s most well know cities and playing some of the best golf courses in the world. I am also really looking forward to being able to travelling around America for golf and just general experience. I still have lots to organise, but I cannot wait to start the next chapter of my life.
