Update from Lucy Carter

Spring 2015 has been another good semester for me. Can’t believe I am already half way through my second year! This spring has been a pretty full on semester with long trainings and uni never seems to stop. After having to red shirt my whole first year it was awesome to finally see the field and get some game time. Our team had a really good semester winning 4 out of 6 games and only losing one. The spring being our off season gave the coaches an opportunity to work more one on one with us which has been really beneficial and allowed players to form different combinations on the field.

Even though it has been pretty exhausting at times it has still been fun. The sunny Florida weather makes almost every day a beach day so there is always something to do on the weekends. This semester my little sister also started at the University of Illinois so it was really cool being able to go up and visit her and experience a little bit of winter.

For spring break me and a few team mates took a trip to the Bahamas which was awesome. The people there were so friendly and the snorkeling was definitely a highlight! I have been on a few trips down to Miami to enjoy part of music week and see the Wynwood art walls.  Our team had a really nice banquet to celebrate the season and to farewell our seniors.I received an award for having the "mentality of a champion", it was a real honor! Over all a really busy semester but still really enjoying it and can’t wait to play in the fall!
