College History:

2012-13: Corfield had an outstanding season for the Cobras, finishing singles and doubles play with an overall record of 18-4.  He was 10-0 in conference competitions, and helped the men to a 10-0 overall conference record. Corfield was an Academic All-Conference selection, and was named team MVP along with second team All-Conference Honors.

James Corfield, has had previous experience in the Conference Carolina's individual tournament and inter-college matches. His results from this tournament showed an incredible improvement over his college career. Playing in the top “A draw” of the tournament, Corfield proved himself by winning his first two matches to advance to the semi-finals, where he lost to the number two seed. Corfield's successes in the tournament against some of the top tennis players in the whole conference proved that he, himself, is amongst the top tennis players in the entire conference.

February 2014 HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The No. 35 nationally ranked Coker men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 victory over Anderson University on Saturday (Feb. 22) in South Atlantic Conference tennis action. The Cobras opened the match by taking two-of-three during doubles play.Andre Staab and James Corfield were victorious at No. 1, 9-8 (7-4), whileWilliam Marrafao and Martin Moncayo bagged an 8-5 win at No. 2. Picking wins in singles action were Staab at No. 1, Tom Sizeland at No. 2, Marrafao at No. 3 and Moncayo at No. 5.

February 2013: James who is a Junior, is now the captain of the team and is leading them to do better than their semi-final conference appearance last year (first time in Cokers history). The Cobras narrowly lost last week 5-4 to 20th ranked Francis Marion, with James unfortunately losing in the deciding rubber 7-6 (9-7) in the third set after a seven tie!
