Now that the season’s officially finished, we just thought we’d recap some of the exceptional performances of our senior athletes who have now completed their college careers!

Chester Epsie – Stetson University (Atlantic Sun Conference Division 1)

 

Chester will be graduating this year after studying four years at Stetson University, majoring in Business Administration.

When first arriving as a freshman, Chester was named to the Atlantic Conference All- Freshman Team. He had an exceptional 15-4 in singles play that year, achieving victories at both number 5 and 6 singles spots. Going on to win 12 consecutive singles matches to end the season.

Going into his sophomore year Chester broke the Stetson record for consecutive singles victories, winning 21 matches. He then went on to complete a 12-6 singles season, and was named a conference Scholar.

In his junior year Chester proceeded to go 14-5 switching between the number 4, 5 and 6 spots. He went on to win 8 straight matches to finish the season, and received a No.78 doubles ranking with his partner, Laurynas Antropikas.

In Chester’s senior year, he completed his season with a strong 9-6 in singles and a 10-8 on doubles; with several matches remaining unfinished.

Chris Simich – University of Louisville (NCAA Division 1)

Chris will be graduating this year after studying four years at the University of Louisville, majoring in Economics and Marketing. 

As a freshman Chris achieved a 21-11 singles record, playing mostly at the Number 5 and 6 spots. He also attained a strong 9-7 record for doubles. Chris was also named runner up in the Fall invitational ‘A’ Singles division and named to the Athletic Director’s honour roll.

During his sophomore year Chris achieved a 23-17 singles record and 12-11 in doubles. He went on to win the ‘A’ division of the Louisville Fall Invitational securing a spot on the Athletic Director’s honour roll and the Dean’s List. By the end of the year Chris became an ITA Scholar Athlete.

In his junior year, Chris earned American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honours; after accomplishing 30-12 singles wins, and registered his teams all time best score of 31-11 in doubles! Chris was also named American Player of the week on the 21st of January!

Finally in his senior year, Chris recorded an astonishing 26-12 wins in singles; and a 19-16 winning record in doubles! Going into preseason Chris and doubles partner Albert Wagner achieved an incredible No.58 ranking in ITA doubles!

 

Stefan Williams- University of Texas- Arlington (Sun Belt Conference- Division 1)

Stefan will be graduating this year after studying four years at the University of Texas at Arlington, majoring in Business and Accounting.

As a freshman Stefan fought to accomplish a notable 5-10 singles record and 6-10 doubles record, partnering with Moreno and Lateko.

As a sophomore Stefan completed his season at 3-3, achieving wins at singles spots 2, 5 and 6. Although he had a little disappointing doubles record accumulating a 0-2.

Stefan finished his senior year with 2 wins out of 9 under his belt, helping his team achieve an impressive overall 51-45 wins!

 

Davina Meza- University of Texas at El Paso (Conference USA Division 1)

Davina started here college career at Cal State Stanislaus. Within her freshman and sophomore years she achieved an impressive 27-10 singles record, and 18-17 overall doubles record.  In her freshman year she posted a 13-3 singles record, achieving these playing at the Number 2 and 3 spots.

During her sophomore year Davina continued this success with her career high of 14 overall singles wins competing at the No. 1 Spot. Davina also went on to attain a 6-6 doubles record at the Number 1 Spot with partner McKenzy Harden. This success continued when she went on to win the Mixed Doubles at the Amateur Australian Open!

Davina then transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso for her final two years. As a junior Davina attained a singles team best of 24-11. Her 23-9 record for doubles alongside partner Rebecca Cavillo; ties for an all time best performance in a single season. Through her amazing performances Davina achieved the third greatest recorded score in the programs history of 47 combined wins! Davina went on to end the season with a 9 consecutive wins!

In her senior year, Davina finished with an impressive 19-11 record in singles, and an equally as remarkable 19-7 in doubles! Davina’s combined winning percentage of  68.5% over her two years has ranked Number 1 in the programmes history, producing an astounding 85-39 record!
